Biographical Information

Master Sergeant Wesley Wilkerson is a native of Little Rock, AR, and enlisted in the Army in January 2002 as a Counterintelligence Special Agent. He completed Basic Combat Training at Ft. Jackson, SC, and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Huachuca, AZ, where he obtained the Military Occupational Specialty 97B (35L), Counterintelligence Agent, and received his Special Agent Badge & Credentials.

During his career, MSG Wilkerson has served in a variety of positions to include Counterintelligence Agent, Strategic Debriefer, Counterintelligence Sergeant, Senior Counterintelligence Agent, Company First Sergeant, Foreign Counterintelligence Case Officer, Cryptologic Linguist, Senior Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Sergeant, Detachment Sergeant, Reserve Counterintelligence Coordinating Authority Liaison Officer, Operations Sergeant, and Military Science Instructor.

MSG Wilkerson served on Active Duty from January 2001 to May 2014, as a member of the Utah Army Reserve National Guard from May 2014 to September 2016, and in the Army Reserve from September 2016 to Present.  His previous Active Duty assignments include Military Intelligence Detachment, 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), at Fort Carson, CO; Counterespionage Team, Bravo Company, 308th Military Intelligence Battalion, 902d Military Intelligence Group, at Redstone Arsenal, AL.  His previous Army National Guard assignments include Bravo Company, 142nd Military Intelligence Battalion (Linguist), 300th Military Intelligence Brigade, at Ogden, UT; Intelligence Coordination Detachment, 142nd Military Intelligence Battalion (Linguist), 300th Military Intelligence Brigade, at Salt Lake City, UT.  His previous Army Reserve assignments include Charlie Detachment, 752nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 902d Military Intelligence Group, at Austin, TX; he is currently assigned to Battalion Support Team 5, 4th Battalion, 414th Regiment SROTC, 104th Training Division, out of JBLM, WA, and is assigned as a Military Science Instructor for the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs ROTC Program, the Mountain Ranger Battalion.

MSG Wilkerson’s operational deployments include five to various locations within Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and one on a Joint Combined Exercise Training to the former Republic of Georgia in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, all with 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

His military education includes the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education – Level 1, Common Faculty Development – Instructor Course, Anti-Terrorism Officer Course, Company Commander and First Sergeant Pre-Command Course, Advanced Foreign Counterintelligence Operations Course, Counterintelligence Surveillance Course, National Security Investigations Course, Senior Leader’s Course, Source Operations Course, Advanced Leader’s Course, Survive, Escape, Resist, Escape (S.E.R.E.) Course Level C, Warrior Leader’s Course, Airborne School, and Defense Language Institute-Georgian.

MSG Wilkerson’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/ four oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal w/two oak leaf cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal 4th award, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal 2nd award, National Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral three, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral four, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal w/ four Campaign stars, Utah National Guard Commendation Medal, Utah National Guard Achievement Ribbon, Basic Army Instructor Badge, Combat Action Badge, and Basic Airborne Badge.  His foreign awards include the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge-Gold and the Norwegian Foot March Badge.

MSG Wilkerson has earned an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, an Associate’s Degree in Foreign Language Studies-Georgian from the Defense Language Institute, an Associate’s Degree in Intelligence Operations/Human Intelligence Collection from Cochise College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

MSG Wilkerson currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO, is married to LTC Cori Wilkerson, PA-C (COARNG), and they have two Labrador Retrievers, Woobie and Reveille.  He is employed full-time as a sworn Law Enforcement Officer for the Colorado Springs Police Department and serves as the Crime Prevention Officer for the Gold Hill Division.
