MAJ Ethan Heckmann

Biographical Information
MAJ Heckmann attended the United States Military Academy and was commissioned in 2012 as an Infantry Officer. Upon commissioning, MAJ Heckmann completed the Infantry Basic Officer Leaders Course and Ranger School at Fort Benning, GA.
Following the completion of Ranger School in April of 2013, MAJ Heckmann was assigned as a Reconnaissance Platoon Leader in Charlie Troop, 1-73 CAV, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. MAJ Heckmann subsequently served as the Charlie Troop Executive Officer and attended the Regimental Assessment and Selection Program 2 (RASP2) in December of 2014. Following his selection at RASP2, MAJ Heckmann was assigned as an Assistant S4 in the Regimental Special Troops Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, GA. While serving in the Regiment, MAJ Heckmann deployed to Parwan Province, Afghanistan as part of a Joint Special Operations Task Force in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
MAJ Heckmann graduated from the Maneuver Captains Career Course in August of 2017, and was subsequently assigned to 1-24 IN, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Fort Wainwright, AK. MAJ Heckmann served as the BN S3 until assuming command of Centurion Company, 1-24 IN in December of 2018. MAJ Heckmann and Centurion Company deployed to the Republic of Korea in May 2019 for a 3-month Security Force mission. In February 2020, MAJ Heckmann deployed with Centurion Company to Baghdad Province, Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. After 18 months in command of Centurion Company, MAJ Heckmann was assigned as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
MAJ Heckmann’s military education consists of Air Assault School, Airborne School, Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Ranger School, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course, Regimental Assessment and Selection Program 2, Jumpmaster School, Maneuver Captains Career Course, Stryker Leaders Course, and Pathfinder School.
MAJ Heckmann holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Dakota. MAJ Heckmann is a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional.
